The Rank Group hands £2m business to DNX

The Rank Group, the UK's leading casino operator, has handed its £2m marketing business to integrated agency DNX.

Previously, the group, which owns the Grosvenor and Hard Rock casino
chains as well as online gaming site Blue Square, ran its marketing at a
local level.

It is now planning to run advertising and direct activity to capitalise

on the rising popularity of gambling and the upcoming gaming legislation

proposed by the government.

A direct mail campaign, intended to increase footfall among the group's
1m-plus members, will break at the end of this month. Rank is also
buying data lists to bolster membership and is planning to run an ad
campaign later in the year.

The activity follows Rank's appointment last year of former Mothercare
marketing director Pat Mitchinson as group marketing director.

The Rank Group's gaming division accounts for about 50% of its total
profits.
