ITV secures terrestrial TV rights for new Bond movie

LONDON – ITV has won the rights for the new James Bond movie 'Casino Royale', starring Daniel Craig in his debut appearance as 007, which will be released in cinemas in November.

The deal includes exclusive broadcast rights to additional runs of Sony Pictures International and MGM's complete Bond library, featuring all six incarnation of the MI6 agent such as the Pierce Brosnan films 'GoldenEye' and 'Tomorrow Never Dies', and 'Dr No' and 'Goldfinger' starring Sean Connery.

Jay Kandola, ITV's director of acquisitions, said: "The Bond catalogue contains some of the most successful films in British film history and I am delighted to have secured the first terrestrial screening of Daniel Craig as James Bond, exclusively for ITV viewers."

ITV also announced that 'It'll Be Alright on the Night' host Denis Norden is retiring after 30 years with the station.

Norden will record one final entertainment special next month, which will mark his departure from the channel called 'All the Best from Denis Norden'.

He has already recorded a 13th 'Laughter File', which will also be screened this year.
