WSJ Europe to promote Jesse Lewis to managing editor
LONDON - The Wall Street Journal has promoted Jesse Lewis to managing editor of the title's European edition following an editorial reshuffle.
Lewis, who has been deputy managing editor since August 2003, will work closely with deputy managing editor Marcus Brauchli, overseeing the Journal's European and Middle Eastern coverage, manage the news desk and maintain partnerships with WSJ Online and Dow Jones Newswires.

Prior to joining WSJ's copy desk in 1987, Lewis worked on a variety of regional US newspapers, and was assistant press secretary to former Pennsylvania governor Dick Thornburgh between 1979 and 1983.
He was promoted following a recent editorial reshuffle at the WSJ Europe, which has seen outgoing editor Raju Narisetti leaving for the Hindustan Times Media Group, and former southern Europe bureau chief Michael Williams taking over from June 1.
Lewis will remain in Brussels for the appointment and will report to Michael Williams, who was made editor of the Journal Europe in April.
Michael Williams, editor of WSJ Europe said: "Jesse's tremendous experience and expertise in editing, production and news flow management will ensure superb daily coverage in Europe and the Middle East for the global Journal.
"His cool head, sound judgement and proven ability to co-ordinate news teams around the world means we'll continue to give our readers the global business, economic and political news that matters most to them."
Lewis will begin his new post on June 1.
