LONDON - Trinity Mirror's Mirror.co.uk is to offer a digital downloads channel, which will feature comedy and celebrity-related content including an exclusive second series of Ricky Gervais's popular podcast show.

The channel, launched by MGN Digital, is a joint venture between Mirror.co.uk, download company Tunetribe.com, audio books download company Audible, and viral hub Bore Me.

Music from signed and unsigned artists, podcasts, an MP3 download service, album reviews and music features will also be available on the channel.

Steve Purcell, editor of Mirror.co.uk, said: "This development shows our ongoing commitment to our online audience by creating a fun, informative and interactive website."

Neil Kleiner, digital content manager for MGN, added: "This is just the beginning -- we will continue to forge innovative partnerships with strong and proven content providers. And, most importantly, we will be there to help our users and take them with us as new technologies evolve."
