Ipoints recruits Bryden to boost data sales accounts

LONDON - Ipoints, the online loyalty scheme company, has appointed Martin Bryden, the former business development manager at DataLocator, as its new business manager to boost its on- and offline share of the data market.

Bryden will specifically be tasked with supporting and extending the company's offline data business, which holds more than 500,000 addresses.

Geraldine Tosh, managing director of Ipoints.co.uk, says the company is not well-known for its data provision, even though it forms a "significant part of our business".

Tosh said: "Martin's experience in working with data across a wide variety of markets and different media, as well as his extensive contacts in the data industry, make him the ideal person to really put Ipoints on the map as a provider of quality consumer data," Tosh said.

Ipoints currently has a database covering more than 1.2m UK consumers, which it rents out across 55 variable categories, including online buying habits and niche product interests.

The company said it keeps its records as up to date as possible by ensuring data is refreshed daily.

Bryden said: "Ipoints has a fantastic data resource, which has not been over-mailed like many other consumer databases so its data provides excellent response rates and is adding more than 45,000 members a month."

Earlier in the week, mobile entertainment firm InfoSpace chose Ipoints to coordinate its customer reward scheme on its Webfetch search engine.
