Discovery appoints Barrs Rormark to lead UK marketing
LONDON - Discovery Network Europe has created a head of marketing position for its UK operation and appointed Rebecca Barrs Rormark, a former MTV marketer in the US.
Barrs Rormark will report to Dan Brooke, UK general manager, and will be based in London.
In the new role, Barrs Rormark will be responsible for marketing across Discovery's 11 UK channels, including Discovery Channel, Discovery Kids and Discovery Home & Health.

Brooke said: "Rebecca brings deep experience of building high-quality brands for international companies, as well as leading large and successful teams."
Prior to joining Discovery, Barrs Rormark spent a year as a consultant for National Geographic in the US and also for the US operations of Fleming Media UK, where she advised on non-US property opportunities in the US markets.
This followed eight years with MTV Networks International, with the most recent role at MTV being vice-president of international marketing and consumer products based in the US.
Barrs Rormark said: "This is a wonderful opportunity to differentiate Discovery's channel brands within the increasingly crowded UK media market by ensuring a highly strategic, innovative and creative approach to all aspects of brand communication across its portfolio."
