Teletext expands sports section

by Robin Parker, Media Week 03-Aug-06, 12:43

Teletext has expanded its sport content with the launch of editorial sections dedicated to football's Coca-Cola Championship and sport betting.

The Championship section will feature a dedicated page for each of the 24 teams in the league, providing fans with team news and match reports, while offering advertisers looking to reach key regional audiences the opportunity to place targeted ads aimed at local football fans.

The club pages are available on Teletext's digital, analogue and mobile internet services, starting on ITV page 555 through to 579.

The sport betting section provides expert advice and tips on betting, previews of major matches and tournaments, as well as breaking sports news. It can be accessed on Channel 4 via page 500, on ITV on page 580 and on Sky and Freeview.
The section will also feature an extensive greyhound racing results service, on p590, and 48-hour advance horse racecards, on p580.
