WPP boosts web marketing clout
WPP Group has acquired a reported 25 per cent stake in US-based internet marketing firm Visible Technologies. The move is a bid to add online media clout to its collectedPR agencies.
Visible, with offices in New York, Seattle, Boston and Washington DC, specialises in internet reputation management and ‘information tracking'.
Visible's TruView software is a search-engine optimisation product that enables customers to place more ‘positive' information at the top of search-engine results. Another product, TruCast, allows users to track and respond to consumer-generated online content.

‘We will be introduced to some WPP agencies so they can better understand how to apply the technologies for clients,' said Visible CEO Adam Selig.
In July, WPP entered into a partnership with LiveWorld, a provider of social networking services.
