Broadsystem to help police with recruitment drive
LONDON - The COI has appointed Broadsystem to provide response management and fulfilment to support a recruitment campaign for Police Community Support Officers as part of a Home Office brief.
The campaign involves TV, outdoor, radio and press advertising and national PR across the county. Through the activity, the Home Office aims to increase the number of PCSOs from its current figure of 6,769 to 16,000 by April 2007.

PCSOs provide a visible presence in the community, supporting the police in tackling anti-social behaviour and minor crimes, as well as being a visible police presence in the community.
Richard Bowdery, Home Office marketing manager, said: "With such tough recruitment targets, it was imperative that we had a company in place that could provide a robust response handling and fulfilment process and give us access to quality data so that we could measure the effectiveness of the campaign."
A team of dedicated advisers will manage calls from applicants via live call handling and a dedicated website. Later this year, the team will test outbound calling to applicants who have requested but not returned fulfilment packs.
Caroline Worboys, chief executive officer at Broadsystem, said: "We expect response to the advertising to be high and it is essential that all enquiries are handled appropriately and professionally.
"Our prior experience working with the RAF on their recruitment campaigns will ensure we provide both the Home Office and COI with the best possible service."
