Asda cuts petrol prices for storecard holders with Ashley Bolser

LONDON - Asda has launched a petrol-saving scheme for its credit and customer loyalty card holders through marketing firm Ashley Bolser Agency, which the supermarket giant said will offer users savings on petrol bought at its garages.

The credit and store cards will give users a two pence saving on every litre of petrol, diesel or unleaded bought from Asda forecourts.

Gev Lynott, Asda's director of financial services, said: "Slashing the cost of petrol and diesel is just one of the ways in which we are working hard to improve our credit card offer at a time when other providers are cutting back on theirs."

Ashley Bolser, which was formed in 2001, is also behind Asda's email marketing campaign to promote free delivery of Asda groceries purchased online with an Asda credit or store card, which the supermarket said would save shoppers £3.95 each time.

The agency was tasked with creating the email campaign, banner ads, mailers and in-store promotional flyers.

Lynott said: "We are looking to give these benefits to many more customers as word gets around about the excellent value and great services supermarkets are bringing to financial services."

Last month, Asda confirmed it had signed up to sponsor the best packaging design at the Satellite Marketing Communications hosted Green Awards, which recognise excellence in creating sustainable marketing materials.
