Armani opens its first home store in London

LONDON - Fashion designer Giorgio Armani will open the first UK branch of his Armani/Casa home furnishings stores later this month.

The 600-square-foot store is situated adjacent to the Armani Collezioni boutique on New Bond Street, and will be devoted to Armani's home furnishings range, which includes furniture and accessories such as ornaments, fabrics and lighting.

The design, like other Armani/Casa stores, will have a loft-style look, with themed areas, black and steel floor tiles, large images on the walls and diffused lighting.

Giorgio Armani, chairman and chief executive of Giorgio Armani, said: "I am especially pleased to note the very real growth we are now seeing in our home furnishings business. I am delighted that after a long search we have found such an ideal and prestigious location for this Armani/Casa store."

Armani already has four other stores across London under its other brands, with concessions in many of London's top department stores.

The Armani/Casa collection was launched in October 2000 with the opening of the first dedicated store in Milan. There are now 33 Armani/Casa stores around the world, and 100 concessions in home furnishings and department stores.

Further openings are planned this year in Mexico City, Miami, Beirut and Tel Aviv.
