LONDON - The Wall Street Journal Europe is to co-publish the UK edition of Trader Monthly, a bi-monthly free luxury magazine aimed at City traders, which had been launched by Conde Nast's contract publishing division.

The US title was launched in the UK last autumn by Conde Nast in an arrangement with its US publisher Doubledown Media.

Doubledown has now ended its contract with Conde Nast and handed the Wall Street Journal Europe responsibility for production, distribution, advertising sales and newsstand sales. The title goes free to a controlled circulation of 50,000 but can be purchased for £10 at newsstands.

Editorial will be handled by Doubledown's team of staff in the US and Europe, led by Trader Monthly editor-in-chief Randall Lane.

A spokeswoman for Conde Nast confirmed it was no longer involved with the title after four editions. "We really enjoyed working with the team at Doubledown. We wish them all the best in their venture with The Wall Street Journal."

Doubledown and WSJ Europe's co-publishing arrangement will be extended next year with the launch of a UK edition of Dealmaker, Doubledown's new US title for bankers.

Magnus Greaves, founder of Doubledown, said: "The Wall Street Journal Europe is the bible of the business elite in the UK and Europe and it's a perfect fit for our high-end luxury and lifestyle content."
