DQM releases debut mailing tracker in Europe

DQM Group has launched a European direct mail and list tracking service it has claimed could save users hundreds of thousands of pounds.

The European List & Mail Tracker is the continent's first network to detail list usage and mail delivery across nations including the UK, Ireland, Germany, France, Italy and Spain.

The direct-marketing information firm, based in High Wycombe, said the tracker gave "evidence of postal and delivery performance as well as list usage for mailers in multiple markets".

DQM Group managing director Adrian Gregory said the service was anchored around 6,000 contracted home-based employees who date-stamped mailings on receipt and detailed their condition before reporting back to the DQM.

A mail campaign from a firm signed up to the service would have mailings sent to around 400 staff in addition to the target audience. The staff checked the material and reported back on a weekly or monthly basis.

"The service is valuable to data owners and publishers who need to know their mail arrives on time and in the right condition and can be used for research on campaign effectiveness," said Gregory.

"For larger list owners, the recovery of revenues typically runs into hundreds of thousands of euros. Publishers who sell mail lists should see threefold revenue recovery because it will flag up people who misuse or re-use data or use it too frequently," he added.
