Boddingtons' latest campaign

LONDON - Boddingtons' latest campaign through Bartle Bogle Hegarty breaks this week and, after its last parody of fragrance ads, this time it’s a send-up of Pirelli’s Carl Lewis ads.

The Boddingtons ad shows a black athlete running through the desert. He comes upon a mystery vehicle which turns out to be a Boddingtons ice-cream van.

He refreshes himself with a pint of Boddies served to him by Melanie Sykes, star of the previous ad, who asks him, in her by now trademark broad Mancunian accent, if he wants a flake in his drink.

The ad spearheads an £8m annual push by Boddingtons.
