Bacardi-Martini hires InBev chief
Bacardi-Martini has appointed former InBev brands director, Liam Newton, as director of marketing for its Bacardi rum portfolio and Martini vermouth.
Newton, who left InBev last November to travel, will lead the consumer
marketing strategy and report to Andrew Carter, marketing director for
Bacardi Brown-Forman Brands.
During his tenure at InBev, Newton was responsible for brands including

Stella Artois, Beck's and Boddingtons.
Previously, Newton was head of brand marketing at Nestle Rowntree. He
had been tipped to succeed then-marketing director Andrew Harrison.
However, he was a casualty of the restructure that ensued when Chris
White was drafted in as managing director in February 2004.
