O2 extends sponsorship for NME Rock N Roll Riot tour
LONDON - Mobile phone giant O2 is to extend its sponsorship of the NME's Rock N Roll Riot tour for the third consecutive year.
The tour, which starts at Leeds Metropolitan University on October 10, will be headlined by Glaswegian trio The Fratellis and will also feature south London quintet The Maccabees, hotly tipped band The Horrors and art rockers Dykeenies.

In the past, the NME Rock N Roll Riot tour has helped break bands including Kaiser Chiefs, Maximo Park and Razorlight, who are currently number one in the singles chart with 'America'.
Conor McNicholas, NME editor, said: "The line-up this year is incredibly diverse -- pop-rock to goth-rock and flavours in between. The bands might come from all corners of the scene, but what they share is an ability to make audiences go wild."
The NME Rock N Roll Riot tour covers 10 venues in total, including Cardiff University, London Astoria and Liverpool Academy, across October.
Paul Samuels, head of sponsorship at O2 UK, said: "Our involvement allows us to ensure O2 customers get access to the latest talent, as well as extra privileges such as prior access to tickets and exclusive content via their mobile phones."
Last month, the NME announced Topman was to sponsor its 60-page student guide, which was distributed across pubs, clubs and shops in 60 university towns.
The weekly title, which is published by IPC, fell 3.4% to 74,206 in the latest ABC figures, but Emap's rival hard rock title Kerrang! climbed 5.3% to 80,186.
