launch of a new arts and entertainment blog, a site dedicated to art and
architecture, and increased coverage of theatre, visual arts, film and
books.
Emily Bell, Guardian News and Media's director of digital content, said:
"The scale of our sponsorship with Intel is a media first for us.
Obviously we will retain editorial independence, but we will work with
Intel to integrate its brand into the site on a number of different
levels and at the same time offer added value to our users."
Universal McCann Interactive negotiated the six-month deal on behalf of
Intel to promote the launch of a new processor.
The site will carry a sponsorship credit on each page and feature a
branded microsite focusing on technology and music, which will show
users how to create and edit their own music videos.
A weekly "ask the expert" section will respond to users' queries on
digital entertainment and the site will also include a "users' guide" to
how to buy the correct technical specification for home use.
