EADS hunts network for global account
The European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company has started to approach media networks about pitching for its global planning and buying task.
EADS, which manufacturers Airbus, is conducting the review out of its
headquarters in Germany. It is at the early stages of putting together a
pitch, which will cover corporate advertising for Airbus and its other

The search for a media agency follows news of a creative agency pitch
for the business (Campaign, 6 October). A part of the task will be to
advertise the much-hyped launch of the giant Airbus A380 passenger
plane, which has already had to be put back until next year.
Activity is expected to be business-to-business in focus, with some
limited advertising in the consumer sector.
EADS now owns 100 per cent of Airbus, having acquired BAE Systems' 20
per cent stake. This followed a management restructure at Airbus, which
saw the departure of Christian Streiff as its chief executive. EADS has
revenues of EUR34.2 billion and employs 113,000 staff.
