Tesco to apply to build 43 store wind turbines

PlanningResource 06-Nov-06, 09:17

Tesco is applying for permission to erect large wind turbines at 12 stores, with smaller turbines at a further 31 sites.

The biggest would be capable of generating 3MW of electricity, with a capacity of 225KW for the smallest.

Planning consent has already been granted for two turbines at a store in Barrow and one in Crewe.

Construction is expected to begin this autumn with the turbines operating by the end of the year.
