BBC online radio achieves record listener numbers
LONDON - BBC Radio has received a record amount of hits from listeners using its BBC Radio Player service, registering 12.5m for September alone with more than half-a-million for long-running soap 'The Archers'.
According to the corporation's figures, 'The Archers' came top, garnering 682,304 hits in September, with Chris Moyles claiming second place with 503,088 for his Radio 1 morning show.
BBC Radio 2 also recorded its highest download figures to date with 3.1m hours, and BBC Radio 3 also produced 475,000 hours -- the most the station has ever received.

In terms of individual programmes, BBC Radio 4's 'From our Own Correspondent' produced the biggest percentage increase in downloads at 75%, which equates to more than 1m requests for the programme.
Radio 1's 'Best of Moyles' topped the table of weekly podcasts with 574,067 monthly downloads, with fellow shock DJ Russell Brand registering 140,440 individual listeners for September.
Last month, Moyles was credited with drawing more listeners than rival breakfast shows at Capital, Magic and Heart, which all slipped in the radio ratings according to official Rajar audience measurement figures.
Moyles increased his national weekly reach figure in the third quarter to 6.81m listeners from 6.78m for quarter two, according to the measurement body.
