NME showcases new acts with covermount CD series
LONDON - IPC Ignite! title NME is to unveil a series of three covermount CDs compiled by independent labels, starting this week, featuring tracks from The Avalanches, The Subways and Mystery Jets.
NME said the CD series aimed to highlight how the best new music, including Arctic Monkeys and The Automatic, were discovered by "independent thinking record labels", prepared to foster up-and-coming talent.

The first of the IPC title's Independent Thinking covermounts, which has been compiled by 1965 Records, features music from The View, Ripchord and The Draytones.
The second CD, which is available on November 29, has tracks selected by UK label Trangressive Records, including current signings The Subways and hotly tipped The Young Knives, and former artist Mystery Jets.
The final CD, which is out on December 6, has been put together by Modular Records and features its signings The Avalanches, New Young Pony Club -- whose track 'Ice Cream' is currently featured in an ad for Intel -- and Wolfmother.
Conor McNicholas, editor of NME, said: "This CD series showcases what's uniquely great about the British music scene -- independent labels nurturing new talent and doing it with passion and originality."
The title, which currently has a circulation of 74,206, launched an Irish edition last month to coincide with the opening of its Club NME Dublin music night.
NME has also released 'NME Presents Essential Bands 2006', a double CD featuring tracks from Razorlight, The Killers, The Kooks and Snow Patrol.
