Financial Times to launch news reader for mobiles
LONDON - The Financial Times is to launch a free digital application that will allow users to access news via their mobile phones and PDAs.
The FT said its FT Mobile News Reader service, which has been developed by Finnish mobile company Leiki, will give FT.com users access to the website's news, comment and analysis content, with an archive stretching back 30 days.

It is understood that the application, which is compatible with all types of mobile phones and BlackBerry handheld devices, will also have up-to-date information on stock prices, and allow subscribers to access premium content and upload stories onto their PDAs to be viewed later.
Ian Cheng, publisher and managing editor of the FT.com, said the service would "give our readers, who are constantly on the go, access to our news, comment and analysis whenever and wherever they want".
The FT.com said the Mobile News Reader could be downloaded from its website or by signing up a UK-registered mobile phone to the service.
