Guardian News & Media combines digital and print teams

LONDON - Guardian News & Media has combined the Guardian Unlimited and display print teams into one department called GNM Commercial.

As part of the initiative, a new research and development team has been created to focus on emerging revenue opportunities for GNM Commercial, Guardian Recruitment Solutions and Guardian Ventures.

The move comes as a number of newspaper publishers offer agencies and advertisers a cross-platform sell to offset the online migration of classified advertising. The Telegraph Media Group already offers clients cross-platform solutions.

Stuart Taylor, GNM's commercial director, said: "Our world-leading websites have long been part of GNM's proposition and the formation of one department, GNM Commercial, reflects the way that clients and agencies increasingly want to deal with us."

As part of the move, GNM has made a number of promotions. Chris Pelekanou, previously deputy advertisement director, has been promoted to the new position of sales director at GNM, with overall responsibility for the new merged digital and display print sales operation.

Mark Finney, previously client sales manager, becomes advertisement manager for clients, and Simon Kilby, previously agency sales manager, is promoted to advertisement manager for trading.
