Management shake-up at PHD

Ian Darby, Campaign 12-Jan-07

Business directors Daren Rubins and Jonathan Fowles promoted as PHD looks to build global network.

The chief executive of PHD, Morag Blazey, has confirmed details of the
agency's new management line-up, which is designed to support the agency
as it builds a global network.

The business directors Daren Rubins and Jonathan Fowles have been

promoted to the roles of managing director and executive director of

planning respectively.

Fowles will work alongside Louise Jones, the executive strategy
director, on evolving PHD's product offering. He will also run a newly
created team of 13 strategists, working across six areas that will sit
at the heart of the agency.

He will effectively be replacing Mark Holden, who is moving to a new
international role to help develop the PHD network. Blazey said: "Mark's
job is to ensure everything is built in the shape of PHD. It all has to
look and feel like PHD London."

Holden will still report to Blazey, but he will also work closely with
PHD's regional chiefs, including Hilary Jeffrey, the chief executive of
PHD in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. PHD has no immediate plans to
replace David Pattison, its worldwide chief executive, who is expected
to leave the agency in March.

The structure is designed to create momentum in London, and help Fowles
and Jones to create ideas that can be rolled out across the network.

Rubins, who has been with the agency for six years, and who previously
worked at MediaVest, will take on the day-to-day running of PHD London,
while Blazey will focus more on PHD's forward strategy and on the links
it has with other Omnicom Media Group agencies.

PHD is currently rolling out agencies across key markets, but has yet to
land its first global client. It won Unilever in Central and Eastern
Europe and is currently pitching for the global Philips Electronics
business.
