LONDON - IPC SouthBank has recruited Maria Milano to head up In Style's new website, which is set to be launched in April.

Milano is leaving her present role as acting editor-in-chief at Condé Nast Interactive to take up the new post on February 12. She has been covering for Abigail Chisman, who is returning from maternity leave.

She is currently in charge of Conde Nast's websites, which include Vogue.com, Glamour.com, GQ.com and GQstyle.com.

Milano was promoted from executive editor of Conde Nast Interactive, before which she spent two years as deputy editor of GQ.com.

Trish Halpin, In Style editor, said: "I'm thrilled In Style's new website has attracted someone of Maria's calibre and experience. She has a fantastic track record and will ensure our website fast becomes a firm favourite with UK women."

Working in partnership with its US counterpart, the In Style website will provide readers with daily fashion, beauty and celebrity style information. The magazine has a circulation of 197,131 and it is hoped the website will be similarly popular with readers.

Kirsten Price, In Style publishing director, said: "Her knowledge of the market and passion for In Style make her the perfect candidate for this important role."

Milano said: "I am thrilled to have been appointed editor of the In Style website. In Style is a brand I have always loved and I believe it has huge potential within the digital space. I look forward to working with the team on this exciting new venture."
