Barratt Homes hires Centrica man
Barratt Homes has enlisted its first director of corporate affairs as the company seeks to establish itself as the future of UK housebuilding.
Patrick Law, former director of the CEO’s office at Centrica, joins with a remit to build the company’s comms function as well as establish the firm as a leader in ‘zero-carbon’ homes and urban regeneration. As part of the role, Law sits on the executive committee.

‘I want to build a small, high-class comms team,’ said Law. He reports to Barratt group CEO Mark Clare, formerly deputy CEO at Centrica.
Law had been director of public affairs and director of corporate affairs at British Gas before it became Centrica in 1997. He held a speechwriting, public policy and corporate role within the CEO’s office before leaving in December.
Centrica director of corporate affairs Catherine May said Law’s comms responsibilities would now be assumed by her department.
