Dennis hires FHM man to run Monkey

Dennis Publishing has hired former FHM cross-media brand director James Mallinson to publish its recently launched digital men's weekly magazine, Monkey.

Mallinson will assume publishing duties previously held by James Carter,
the former FHM publishing director hired by Dennis to lead new product
development last year.

After developing and launching Monkey in November, Carter left Dennis to

become a founding executive of start-up Factory Media, which specialises

in extreme sports magazines and websites.

Mallinson's remit will cover only the development of Monkey, rather than
any further launches.

Carter was understood to have had several projects in development,
including a magazine targeting older men.

Ben Raworth, Dennis' new product development editor, will continue to
develop projects with the publisher's commercial and publishing teams.
