King returns to radio as RAB chairman
Martina King, Yahoo!’s ex-European managing director and former head of Capital Radio, has returned to commercial radio as chairman of the Radio Advertising Bureau.
The hiring is the RAB’s first senior appointment since the body was devolved into the RadioCentre last year.
RadioCentre said the move was the first part of the “re-energising” of the RAB, which will continue over the next few months, as part of chief executive Andrew Harrison’s desire to grow radio’s share of display ad revenues from 6.1% to 7% over the next three years.

King began her career in sales at Guardian Newspapers, before moving to Capital in 1993 as sales director, rising to managing director three years later. She became managing director of Yahoo! UK and Ireland in 1999 prior to overseeing the group’s European operations.
In her new role, King will also take a non-executive director role at RadioCentre.
