PriceRunner offers mobile downloads

by Media Week, Media Week 13-Feb-07

PriceRunner, the price comparison website owned by ValueClick Europe, is launching a mobile phone service in partnership with mobile phone software provider Picsel.

Consumers will be able to download the free application from
pricerunner.co.uk or by sending a text to a mobile phone shortcode,
where the application will be sent back to the user. Users will see a

full colour mini-version of pricerunner.co.uk, with full functionality

to compare prices.

The charge for the service will be standard data roaming charges,
meaning users will only pay for receiving the data, not for the full
time they are on the phone.

The mobile site will launch in the second quarter of this year.

ValueClick Europe marketing director Gary Goodman said: "We are
introducing a wider range than banners and buttons. There is a range of
ideas, one of which is a filler ad that runs for three or four seconds
as the application downloads.

"Also, we want to deliver lead generation with vouchers to deliver
footfall."
