Charity calls pitch for £1.5m rebrand

by James Hamilton, Campaign 23-Feb-07

Leonard Cheshire, the UK's leading disability charity, has approached agencies with a brief to promote a rebrand and change of name. The assignment is understood to be worth £1.5 million.

Leonard Cheshire is the largest voluntary sector provider of support
services for disabled people in the UK.

However, recent research carried out by the charity revealed that only
one in five people under the age of 35 had heard of Leonard Cheshire;

and an even smaller number knew what the charity does.

Judith Barnard, the Leonard Cheshire director of communications, said:
"We are proposing to relaunch Leonard Cheshire towards the end of the
year.

"Leonard Cheshire is considering ways in which we can better promote
disability issues, and get wider public support. We exist to serve
disabled people and we wish to be in the best possible position to do
this."
