LONDON - IPC magazine Country Life has overhauled its website in an attempt to make it the first port of call for consumers looking for rural property and countryside news.

The newly engineered site now features an easy-to-use function that enables house-hunters to search for properties by specifying price range and whether they are looking for farms, estates, houses with stables or coastal property. It also enables users to search for overseas properties.

Editorial content on the new site includes articles on the property market in the country and London, including the magazine's weekly columns by Penny Churchill, country guides, buying tips and renovation advice.

The site also carries content such as the magazine's Tottering-by-Gently cartoon and Mrs Danvers' household tips, with advice on subjects such as the best way to prepare gin cocktails, weekly blogs by Country Life's resident experts and daily news from the countryside.

Arabella Youens, Countrylife.co.uk's editor, said: "The Country Life website is already incredibly popular, and this major redesign provides more depth, more functionality and more content for prospective home-buyers and countryside-lovers alike."
