D&AD unveils awards nominees from record number of entrants
LONDON - The D&AD has unveiled the nominees for its 2007 Global Awards, including 715 nominations for the D&AD Annual 2007 and 151 for the D&AD Yellow Pencil.
Design-related categories with a noteworthy number of nominations include graphic design with 11, photography with seven, and gaming with six.
The Prince's Trust was just one of the judges' favourites receiving four nominations, one of which was for its press ads created by Clemmow Hornby Inge. Last year, this award was won by DDB London for its Harvey Nichols work.

Paula Taylor, D&AD Awards director, said: "Our judges got through an incredible amount of work in a very short time. Despite the enormity of this task, our judges were meticulous in evaluating absolutely everything. They upheld D&AD's tough creative standards throughout."
This year 25,000 pieces of work were entered, compared with 24,000 in 2006. There were 58 entries from nations with first time submissions. These countries included Bangladesh, the French-speaking island of Reunion and Qatar.
Nominations will be showcased online from the end of April at D&AD's dedicated awards website and at Old Billingsgate in London during week two of the D&AD Congress, which takes place from May 21 to 24. Yellow and Black Pencil winners will be revealed on May 24.
