LONDON - Holiday firm TUI UK has appointed Celerity to create a single database, bringing together 40m records from across its brands.

The work involves linking up existing customer records from brands including Thomson and Portland. Once completed, it will be used to predict customer behaviour and shape future marketing and communications activity.

Information available will include transactional as well as offline and online data, which will be crucial to the database as more than half of bookings for Thomson are made online.

In total, TUI UK carried more than 5m passengers a year to more than 80 locations.

Bertran Labays, TUI UK marketing database manager, said: "With so many brands within the TUI UK portfolio, a single view database will serve to streamline our customer data making it more effective for driving targeted customer communications campaigns."
