Emap appoints Publicis' Stewart as chief marketing officer

LONDON - Emap's consumer arm Emap Consumer Media has appointed Simon Stewart to the newly created role of chief marketing officer.

Stewart, who joins with 18 years' experience in FMCG marketing - both in-house and agency - will take charge of the overall marketing of Emap's consumer brands across magazines, radio, online, mobile and TV. 

He will lead a "major programme of change" within Emap's consumer division, focusing on research and development of new product ideas.

Stewart, who will report directly to Emap Consumer Media chief executive Paul Keenan, will also develop an integrated marketing organisation and introduce marketing best practice across the division.
His most recent role was senior vice-president of global development at Publicis working with a number of clients including Hewlett-Packard and Foster's. Prior to Publicis, Stewart held various senior marketing roles within Coca-Cola, Diageo, United Distillers and Allied Domecq.
