Nike+ to launch Facebook group
Nike is partnering with Facebook to promote Nike+, its recently launched web-based running tool, to the social network's rapidly expanding UK user base.
The sports giant is planning to create a branded Facebook group
encouraging the site's 3.7m monthly unique users to interact with Nike+
under the 'Tune your Run' strapline.
The Facebook group has not yet officially launched, but it is understood
ADVERTISEMENT
that Nike is planning to use the site to generate a community of
interest around the brand.
Nike+iPod launched last year, allowing runners to measure the distance
and pace of individual training sessions. The system allows transmitters
in the shoe to be connected to an iPod.
