UBC Media performing in line with expectations
LONDON - UBC Media has reported it is "performing in line with expectations" at its AGM today, when chairman John Hudson reported the company has made an "encouraging start" to the new financial year.
The sale to GCap Media of the Classic Gold digital network earned the company £5.9m at the end of June.
Year-on-year revenues are reported to be up by 19.8% for Q1 while the Cliq downloading service that UBC unveiled last month, allowing listeners to buy music tracks directly form radio stations as they hear them, is said to be "on track".

In his report to shareholders Hudson said: "In particular, our radio advertising business traded strongly, with revenues in the period up 30% year-on-year, although the radio advertising market remains volatile."
Speaking about the Cliq service, Hudson said a deal with Imagination Technologies, which was announced in June, means the service should be available on most mobile phones in the UK via Java software that us currently under development.
