LONDON - Mark Goodier's morning show on Smooth Radio's London station is to be networked across three more of the the brand's stations.

The station's owner GMG Radio has decided to expand the 10am to 1pm show's reach from September 3 to include its Smooth stations in the East and West Midlands as well as Glasgow. Its North West England Smooth station will continue to broadcast local content in the slot.

The network targets the 40-plus age group, with former BBC Radio 1 DJs Goodier and Kevin Greening among its highest profile presenters.

During his time at Radio 1 Goodier presented the breakfast and drivetime shows and also spent a decade hosting the Sunday afternoon chart show.

His Smooth show, which doesn't currently have a sponsor, attracted 157,000 listeners per week in London in the second quarter, according to latest Rajar figures.

John Simons, GMG Radio group programming director, said: "Mark is a giant in the world of broadcasting and Smooth Radio is delighted to be able to reunite him with audiences across the country that grew up listening to him."
