PETA vilifies KFC with viral game

Marketing 29-Aug-07

PETA has ramped up its attach on KFC's animal welfare record, with a viral game called Super Chick Sisters.

Players of the game, which is inspired by Super Mario Brothers, have to
rescue PETA spokeswoman Pamela Anderson, who has been kidnapped by
Colonel Sanders after telling the world that KFC 'mistreats

chickens'.

The activity is part of a wider campaign - which can be found at
kentuckyfriedcruelty.com - to raise awareness of the conditions in which
KFC's US suppliers keep chickens.

PETA has been in dispute with the fast-food firm since 2001. The current
campaign, which encourages people to boycott KFC, also promotes
vegetarianism.

A spokesperson for KFC said: 'PETA's campaigns are publicity stunts to
promote vegetarianism - this latest viral is no exception. We take
chicken welfare seriously and use the same suppliers - which all meet EU
regulations - as leading supermarkets.'
