Google to expand its news service
Google is to publish news content on its site for the first time, in an expansion of its Google News service.
The search giant has struck a deal with four news agencies, including
the Press Association, to host stories broken by the agencies on
Google's sites.
Previously, Google News did not host any copy other than search

results.
The service scours the internet to pick up news stories and delivers
results in a format similar to its main search engine.
On the Google News homepage, small extracts from stories are published,
but users have to click through to the news source to read the full
copy.
Google claims to scan more than 4,500 news sources and recently created
an archive search and a mobile version of Google News.
