Travelodge hands digital job to Twentysix London

by Gareth Jones, Marketing 12-Sep-07

Travelodge has named Twentysix London as its lead strategic and creative digital agency, as part of plans to expand its business in the run-up to the London 2012 Olympic Games.

The budget hotel chain awarded the brief, worth at least £1.2m, to
the agency following a three-way pitch against Agency.com and Soup.

Travelodge plans to review the design, architecture and functionality of

its website to encourage more consumers to book rooms online. It is also

looking to form brand partnerships with online retailers to further
extend its digital presence.

The review has been overseen by Travelodge sales and marketing director
Daniel Heale, who joined the company in July and will be responsible for
developing the chain's marketing strategy in the run-up to London
2012.

Last month, Travelodge announced plans to open 200 hotels in the UK and
overhaul its room design. The revamped rooms will include wi-fi, a
digital flatscreen TV and coloured mood-lighting (Marketing, 1
August).
