The Week: BBDO Worldwide lands £77m global Monster ad business
BBDO Worldwide has scooped the global $155 million (£77 million) advertising account for Monster, the online jobs website.
BBDO New York and Atmosphere BBDO, the network's North American digital
agency, will now head up the business, bringing an end to the two-year
incumbency of the Boston-based Brand Content.

Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO is likely to handle the Monster account in the
UK, although no official decision has yet been made.
The previous UK incumbent, Leo Burnett, which had worked on the business
on a project basis, was involved in the original pitch, which began as a
pan-European contest in May. After three rounds of pitching, the company
decided to expand the contest to include its global account. DDB, TBWA,
McCann Erickson, JWT and 180 Amsterdam were also among the agencies that
received invitations to pitch.
Since 2000, Monster.com has conducted five reviews of its advertising
account, the latest of which began shortly after the appointment in May
of Joan Blackwood, the company's chief marketing officer.
