LONDON - Robert Campbell, the former United London managing partner and creative director, has resurfaced at digital marketing agency, Steak Media, as a non-executive director.

Campbell is joining Steak Media's board at the same time as Matt Clark, who has been finance director and partner at independent advertising agency Mother since 1999. Clark has joined as non-executive board director and will remain as finance director and partner at Mother.

Since his departure from United London earlier this year in the wake of its closure after a string of high profile account losses, Campbell has been working on independent projects such as the relaunch of Hammer Horror and the launch of The Elders, a grouping of global statesmen. He has also been writing a screenplay.

Prior to United London, Campbell served in senior positions at WCRS and AMV BBDO, and was one of the founding partners of Rainey Kelly Campbell Rolfe and the Banks Partnership.

Steak Media's current board members include Seb Bishop, the chairman who also serves as president of paid-search network Miva, and Chrysi Philalithes, vice-president of global marketing and communications at Miva.

Campbell said: "Since I left the good old-fashioned above-the-line business I've discovered some amazing things. Steak Media are one of the most exciting of my discoveries.

"They genuinely turn the art of persuasion into a science. If I were a client, this is where I'd be spending my money."

Bishop said: "[Campbell] is a respected figure in the advertising world and his invaluable experience will help us create award-winning campaigns and improve digital integration with above-the-line media."

Matt will bring valuable operational expertise and wide ranging international business development from the advertising industry. His experiences of successfully diversifying Mother are perfect for Steak's ambitious growth strategies."

Steak Media offers a large range of digital services and is particularly strong in the search marketing arena. Clients include British Gas, John Lewis and FCUK.
