MARKETING MIX: Daily Sport unveils seedy CD

This must be the media brand extension of the year - not to mention

the perfect toy for blokes obsessed with sex and football.

Swing! Entertainment has come up with a computer game featuring 'a squad

of gorgeous, intelligent females' who are 'gagging to strip naked in

celebration of the art of football statistics'.

This highly tasteful, politically correct item is produced in

association with none other than that highly respected national paper,

The Daily Sport, and offers, no doubt, just as much thought-provoking

content.

Apparently, Daily Sport Football Strip, available for PC CD-ROM,

features more than 2000 football trivia questions and five well-known

glamour models who can't wait to get their kit off for football anoraks

who get the answers right.

As the promotional blurb goes: 'Indeed, the mere mention of the scorer

of Birmingham City's winner in the 1991 Leyland Daf Trophy Final, could

have these babes whipping their knickers off quicker than you can say

'John Gayle (in the 85th minute)'.'

And there's more. Swing! justifies the existence of this must-have

addition to the family CD-ROM collection by citing the current craze for

quiz titles, spawned by the success of TV shows such as Who Wants to be

a Millionaire and The Weakest Link. Mix can't help wondering what Anne

Robinson would say about it.

The Daily Sport editor Tony Livesey summed up the product in the

newspaper's inimitable way: 'Daily Sport Football Strip is the only game

you won't be disappointed at being pulled off at half time for!'
