LONDON - DatingDirect.com-owner Meetic has signed a pan-European deal with AOL, which will create dating channels in five more countries.

The deal completes a previous agreement that Meetic signed at the start of the year with AOL France. The partnerships already in place in the UK and Germany will be renewed and Meetic will launch dating chains with AOL in Italy, Spain, Austria, the Netherlands and Switzerland.

Meetic's services will provide AOL's users with an online dating service while AOL's portals will allow Meetic to reach a wider European audience.

Marc Simoncini, CEO of Meetic, said: "The signing of this agreement shows the efficiency of our collaboration with AOL and the biggest internet players in Europe. Our partnership strategy is a long-term one and the extension of theses exclusive agreements reflects the quality of our services and their evolution."

Dana Dunne, CEO of AOL Europe, said: "Our partnership with Meetic will enable them to benefit from AOL's large and sophisticated network. We always strive to offer our users the best internet services and our partnership across AOL's eight European portals will bring even more people together."

DatingDirect.com provides dating services to a number of UK brands including Virginmedia.com, Sky.com, Tiscali.co.uk, Channel4.com, Mirror.co.uk and Vodafone UK.
