The Week: Coca-Cola moves £40m media business into Vizeum

Campaign 09-Nov-07

Coca-Cola has consolidated its £40 million UK media planning and buying business into Vizeum, as exclusively revealed by Campaign on brandrepublic.com.

Vizeum won the brief after a pitch against Naked Communications,
Universal McCann and Starcom.

The Aegis-owned agency retains planning and press buying duties on the
business, and adds the £20 million TV buying element of the

account, which was previously handled by Universal McCann.

ZenithOptimedia, which was originally included in the review process,
pulled out due to conflict.

The soft-drinks giant called a review of the business in July, following
a similar process in other markets. Its UK advertising account, which is
shared between Mother, VCCP and Lowe, is unaffected.

Cathryn Sleight, the marketing director of Coca-Cola Great Britain,
said: "Vizeum demonstrated world-class, insightful connection strategies
between brands and consumers."
