LONDON - The Telegraph Media Group has appointed Mark Kleinman as City editor of The Sunday Telegraph, replacing Dan Roberts who has been promoted to deputy editor of the paper.

Kleinman will leave his role as Asia business editor of The Daily and Sunday Telegraph to take up his new position in the New Year.

He has been based in Hong Kong since September 2006 but prior to this he was a mergers and acquisitions reporter and media correspondent at The Sunday Times, where he won Best Scoop at the 2006 Business Journalist of the Year Awards. Kleinman was also a reporter for Haymarket's Marketing magazine.

Separately, Louise Armitstead has been appointed deputy City editor, reporting to Kleinman.

Armitstead, who will also begin her role in the New Year, is currently the mergers and acquisitions editor and Prufrock editor at The Sunday Times. She has worked for the Sunday Times for six years.

Damian Reece, head of business, said: "Our modern, integrated multi-media approach to publishing means the Telegraph Media Group is now the natural home for bright, ambitious journalists such as Mark and Louise.

"I'm looking forward to working with them as they lead our dedicated business coverage in The Sunday Telegraph."
