M&S considers stocking branded products
LONDON - Sir Stuart Rose, the chief executive of Marks & Spencer, has hinted that he is considering 'breaking with tradition' and introducing branded products to its stores.
The remark comes two weeks after the retail giant reported a fall in sales over the key Christmas trading period.
UK like-for-like sales fell 2.2% during the 13 weeks to December 29, the brand's worst performance for more than two years. Sales of clothes and homewares declined 3.2%, while food sales dropped 1.5%.

In contrast, Bradford-based chain, Morrisons, reported today an increase in like-for sales of 9.5% (excluding fuel) in the six weeks to 6 January 2008.
According to an interview in the Sunday Telegraph, Rose also said that he is considering introducing an online delivery service for food.
