LONDON - Rugby website Scrum.com, owned by ESPN, has re-signed luxury car brand Land Rover as sponsor of its Six Nations Fantasy League game.

The agreement marks the third consecutive year that Land Rover has sponsored the Six Nations Fantasy League game on the site.

This year Land Rover has increased their involvement through fully integrated sponsorship.

The deal also includes promotion of the game across ESPN's other European digital platforms, including Cricinfo.com and ESPNsoccernet.com.

Andy Griffiths, UK marketing director at Land Rover, said: "The agreement with Scrum.com is an important facet of our ongoing association with rugby in the UK.

"Land Rover is proud to be the official vehicle of England rugby, Premier rugby and Scottish rugby and we continue to support the game at grassroots level through a variety of initiatives. Our agreement with Scrum.com helps us to engage directly with the legions of rugby fans online."

Last year over 25,000 users took part in Scrum.com's online rugby management game. Fans pick their best composite team from all the nations playing for the chance to win weekly prizes, including a half-day driving a Land Rover and a full day Land Rover Driving experience for two people.

Abeed Janmohamed, UK sales manager of ESPN, said: "Our relationship with Land Rover has strengthened this year and we are looking forward to setting a new record with our number of users.

"This agreement is a great example of how online sponsorship can deliver clear business objectives. Given that this is the third year of Land Rover's association with the game it is also a great endorsement of how effective this relationship has been for them."

The Six Nations Fantasy League game on Scrum.com starts this weekend with the first round of matches, including England versus Wales at Twickenham.
