LONDON - Car rental brand Hertz has kicked off a review of its £20m pan-European above- and below-the-line marketing communications account.

A number of marketing services agencies have already been approached regarding the brief and a shortlist of four agencies is understood to have been drawn up. The pitch process is being managed by intermediary ICG Commerce and Hertz head of marketing programmes David Oliver. The winning agency will be briefed to create a range of brand marketing communications, spanning on- and offline campaigns as well as CRM.

The US-owned company is one of Europe's largest car rental companies, competing for market share against rivals Europecar, Enterprise, Avis and Sixt. The largest is Europecar which has roughly a quarter of the market.
