LONDON - MTV and MySpace are joining forces to create a weekly chart show, which will feature videos voted for by MTV viewers and MySpace users.

The show, MySpace Chart, which launches on 16 March on MTV Two, will feature 35-40 videos from the channel's playlist as well as comments from viewers, music video directors and artists.

Viewers can vote for their favourite videos at mtv.co.uk/myspacechart and on MTV Two's profile page on Myspace. Both pages will go live on 10 March.

The move is part of an ongoing collaboration between MTV and MySpace, which recently partnered to find a presenter for MTV News.

‘The audience for MTV and MySpace are incredibly similar,' says Philip O'Ferrall, vice-president of digital Media at MTV Networks UK & Ireland. ‘Not only are they both incredibly passionate about their music tastes, but they are powerful advocates for the latest up-and-coming artists, which both MTV and MySpace have a history of showcasing.'

Dom Cook, marketing director and head of music at MySpace UK, added: ‘The way that consumers are accessing music is changing and the MySpace Chart on MTV Two brings together two of the most important forces in this evolution. MySpace is the world's largest online music destination, connecting bands and their fans, and it will be exciting to see how the community will contribute to the show.'
